In an inspiring achievement for our community, we are thrilled to share news that fills us with pride and hope. The Institute for Public Health Innovation (IPHI) in collaboration with La Casa de la Salud has graduated its first group of health promoters, marking a significant step towards a healthier future for Virginia.
From August 14th to October 12th, eight dedicated promoters immersed themselves in a training program entirely in Spanish, tailored to their needs and contexts. These brave women have not only learned fundamental basic skills for health promotion but have also become powerful advocates for equity and well-being in our community.
Why is this so special?
Because this achievement doesn’t just belong to them; it belongs to the entire community. These empowered promoters, armed with knowledge and the spirit of assistance, are now catalysts for change on our streets, in our homes, and in our hearts. They are equipped to connect their friends and neighbors with vital health resources, to manage chronic illnesses, and above all, to foster solidarity and mutual support.
How can you join this community health revolution?
If you, too, feel the desire to improve your community’s health, now is the perfect time to join us. The doors of opportunity are open for those who wish to learn, assist, and be part of something bigger. Are you interested in connecting, learning, and making a difference? This is your call to action.
What’s next?
This achievement marks only the beginning. Backed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), this program is destined to grow and thrive. The next chapters are waiting to be written, and we would love for you to be part of this exciting journey towards a healthier Virginia.
Let’s come together to make our community stronger, healthier, and more united. Together, we are unstoppable!
